La Familia Basketball was founded in 2015 with a foundation built on brotherhood, loyalty, and a shared passion for competing together. After officially making its PBL debut during the summer of 2023, the organization faced early adversity by falling short of qualifying for the 2023 Big 16 Tournament. Rather than allowing disappointment to define the program, La Familia used the experience as motivation to regroup, retool the roster, and come back stronger.
That determination paid off in 2024 when La Familia captured the PBL Championship, solidifying the organization as one of the league’s premier programs. The journey from missing the tournament to winning a championship reflects the resilience, unity, and commitment that define the franchise.
At its core, La Familia is more than a basketball team — it is a true brotherhood. The organization is built on trust, togetherness, accountability, and competing for one another every time the team steps on the court. The name “La Familia” represents the family culture within the program, where every player is expected to support, sacrifice, and battle alongside one another in pursuit of success.

At La Familia, our philosophy is built on a simple foundation: play hard, play smart, play together, and execute at a high level. We believe success comes from discipline, effort, teamwork, and trusting one another on every possession.
Defensively, we pride ourselves on intensity, pressure, and making opponents uncomfortable from start to finish. Our aggressive defensive mindset fuels our fast-paced, run-and-gun offensive style, allowing us to play with energy, attack in transition, and keep constant pressure on opposing teams.
More importantly, La Familia represents a true family-oriented culture. Every player who joins the program is treated like family and held accountable both on and off the court. We emphasize character, respect, discipline, and professionalism, understanding that how we carry ourselves away from the game is just as important as how we compete during it.
