We Here’s Anchor Beats Out X- Factor's Kelvon Fuller for League’s Top Defensive Honor

In a season where defense separated contenders from pretenders, Glenn Bryant stood tall—literally and figuratively. The We Here forward was officially named the 2025 PBL Defensive Player of the Year, edging out X-Factor’s dominant big man Kelvon Fuller in a tightly contested race.

Bryant’s defense was the pulse of We Here’s identity. Game after game, he established himself as a rim protector, glass cleaner, and defensive tone-setter. With a wingspan that erased shot attempts and the timing of a veteran shot blocker, Bryant didn’t just defend—he imposed fear.

The Case for Bryant:

• 1.8 blocks per game

• 3.6 rebounds per game (2.2 defensive)

• 9.3 points per game on 51.3% shooting

• Led We Here’s defensive schemes that held opponents to low second-chance production

• Played all 10 games with high consistency, often guarding the opposing team’s top forward or center

While Kelvon Fuller was a monster in his own right—averaging 10.5 rebounds, 1.2 steals, and bringing physicality on both ends—Bryant’s rim protection, agility, and clutch defensive plays gave him the edge in voters’ eyes. His ability to switch onto smaller players and still be a dominant post defender made him invaluable on the floor.

Why Bryant Won:

• His defensive impact wasn’t just in the stats—it was in the flow of the game.

• He took on the league’s toughest assignments and often neutralized them.

• Bryant anchored a .500 squad and was a major reason We Here earned a shot in the Big 16 Tournament.

Kelvon Fuller may have finished a close second, and Aaron Allen of CTM rounded out the top three with his disruptive perimeter defense—but in 2025, the paint belonged to Glenn Bryant.
